A Video is Worth 3000 Words

Learning a new technique can be hard, but learning through words alone can be near impossible. Think back to the grade-school exercise where you had to write instructions for making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich… no matter how careful you were, literal interpretation rarely yielded a suitable snack. Clinician-researchers face a similar problem when publishing new methods. Peer-reviewed manuscripts are generally preferred, but these publications rarely integrate video into the article and do not provide support for video production.

Luckily, JoVE provides a solution. Attune Medical was excited to partner with some of the EnsoETM’s earliest users to publish an open access, peer-reviewed video journal article illustrating device placement and troubleshooting tips in 2017.

A single use, triple lumen device is placed into the esophagus, analogous to a standard orogastric tube, and connects to existing heat exchange units to perform automatic patient temperature management.
